What's Buzz-worthy: The original Space Jam arrived today back in 1996 -- 25 years ago -- while this set is a recent release with the new LeBron James reboot/homage/whatever-you-call-it showcased here in a small set and small boxes with longshot odds but big potential. This box (found at Walmart at $19.99 SRP) was oddly a card short but did include a lenticular that is found one in three blasters. Your only guarantees here are Blue parallels and a Ready to Jam insert. The base set includes several looks at the characters -- and my gut says there will be some LeBron cards here slabbed ... if the corners cooperate (mine did not) -- but there are a ton of autographs to be found here even in these boxes. The two auto sets combine to make ink one in 600 packs here with Don Cheadle, LeBron James (one in 229,649 packs in one set, even higher in the other) the notables but a ton of others possible. Also in play here are film cel cards, an In Action set, a Power Moves set, an All-Stars set and a Rookies set. Parallels are in play for all. The basic break here is that, basic, but the cards are high-gloss (they may stick over time as they do already) and also so high you will see fingerprints both front and back so handle with care. The design and mix is pretty tight I think this one could be popular over time due to the approach and multiple LeBron cards along with iconic characters. There are also hobby boxes on the way for this one.
