What's Buzz-worthy: Wave nine of this one sold 11,668 packs and I dug in here because this wave is perhaps the most-unique version of the 10 this year -- the one that is solely made up of MiLB cards like some of the T206 cards of the past, which also showed players in minor-league cities like Birmingham, Mobile and Savannah. This time? It's present-day teams and a number of top prospects are in this one. I landed a pair of the two-per Piedmont backs (one in each pack) and then a Sweet Caporal (one in three) and a Sovereign (one in six). The rest were the basics here, though some A-list MLB stars can be found on variations in this series and then there are, of course, autographs for four players. (See checklist above.) Nothing on those fronts for me. I think I landed a couple of notables here but names that eluded me included J.J. Bleday, Blaze Jordan, Brennen Davis, Julio Rodriguez, Adley Rutschman, Bobby Witt Jr. and the biggest, Wander Franco. Was I blown away with my two packs? Probably not. Would I do more? Perhaps. If T206 returns in 2022 for a third run -- I'd prefer they try T205s but they are perhaps more complicated to build -- I think they should trick some things up here to make every pack feel a little more interesting beyond just the simple tricks from all those years ago. Give us that, of course, but give us something more in every pack, too.
