What's Buzz-worthy: This one is simple -- a Chromed version of the Allen & Ginter base set with mini parallels, color parallels for both and then a small lineup of inserts with a rarer shot at autographs. It's one that, in theory, gives the Chrome/color-loving rippers something to chew on from the retro realm and offers looks at past and present stars in a new old way in every pack. I didn't rip any of the first version of this that arrived last year but the feel I assume is about the same. I landed a rarer mini parallel here and then a couple of color cards for regular-size parallels but ultimately the rest here is relatively standard. The mix of MLB players and non-players is a little bit dryer this year -- I think it's seen in this box -- though I think my biggest presence here was Hall of Famers. The break isn't that flashy -- one mini per -- and then Refractors of some type in roughly every other pack atop that. Ink is too rare here for my tastes -- or the draw of Chrome just doesn't resonate for me enough to buy heavily without something assured.
