What's Buzz-worthy: Ginter is a brand that's been immensely popular in its 15-year run and it's always one to pack surprises within its package of retro-styled cardboard. This box? It defied the odds with a Relic -- one in 69 packs -- so that gets it to an A for the box. The rest of the mix here is relatively comfortable for a $20 blaster and the World's Largest mini is also noted at one in 50 packs ... but the total package isn't all that flashy. (If you regularly do Ginter, it's on-par with most years in most ways.) I'm not going to compare this to the best years of Ginter -- the base design, for example, is perhaps the best ever for the brand -- but the autograph lineup just feels like it's missing some top-tier ink on the celeb/non-baseball side, which is a big draw here. Don't get me wrong, there are some big autos possible here at least for right now -- see that checklist up top for the full list -- with Kim Ng, the Slap Shot Hanson Brothers, Trevor Lawrence, Jose Andres, Jason Biggs and Marc Anthony to name a few of note and then there are, of course, a ton of MLB notables who are tougher pulls. As I said last time, this one is a master set collector brand with enough weird stuff that it can deliver big -- and all the minis can have some deceiving value as well -- but I think buying more than just one hobby box or blaster is the key. The big box will pay for a few while others might not. If you've been in on the brand you know this feeling -- it may not have as many "big" autos as some years but it's still on par with the Ginter legacy and that means there's a lot of unique stuff here that will likely not ever be done again. If you like this one, do a hobby box or two. If you're interested but not totally sold, rip three or four blasters. There are key cards to be found in this format -- just at longer odds.
