What's Buzz-worthy: Yep, I tried it again -- the Walmart factory set chase -- and I defied those one-in-three odds to land a Gold set.  It's not as flashy or colorful as last year, but I'll take it (and probably not do it again as I liked last year's RC crop better). This is the second year in a row where the Topps MLB flagship has a chase element in its factory sets sold at Walmart and this version is the easiest and is un-numbered. Other versions are serial-numbered at /299 (Blue Star), /99 (Orange Star) and even a 1/1 Foilfractor set. These also have an extra chase with a five-card Foilboard parallel pack -- mine was a dud of sorts -- with dramatically higher numbering this year (/264 last year but that was a larger 700-card set) and then the rookie variations. If you don't normally grab a factory set every year (and that's less likely in recent years given all the bonus inclusions for rookies) this adds a little more to the possibilities. There are a ton of RCs here (see gallery) and I think if you land one of these chase sets you might have a good one to hold for the long-term or slab keys as they arrive. (Check out Jo Adell and Joey Bart MiLB stats this year ... good things seem very possible.)  Right now? There are a lot of base RCs out there to choose from for all guys here but these, even if a little more plentiful vs. last year, will inevitably be rarer than the regular stuff as they are a slice of a slice of a slice -- chase cards only in Walmart-only versions of factory sets. The volume on the numbered sets also makes me think the Golds might not be as plentiful as people might think.
