What's Buzz-worthy: I went hunting with a Blowout MegaMix and I'll be posing a number of single-pack breaks over the coming days/weeks for some releases we have seen here and then some we haven't as, well, I've admittedly slowed on chasing some of the stuff that's highly popular. Why? Giving them time to breathe -- but also me, too, with all the demand -- and that's where the MegaMix comes in. This year's format -- it's still available at The National now -- is a mix of packs with bonus items and boxes, which allows for a price point that lets collectors like me dabble here a little more comfortably vs. full-box prices. This box? Not a cheap one -- link up top -- and per the wrapper there's not an autograph guaranteed in every box (one in 10 packs) though the other ink may have these collating where every eight-pack box does deliver that as stated and a numbered parallel. My pack? I got the ink. Nick Maton was a rookie last year who played in 52 games with a .256 average, 16 runs and 14 RBI. This year? He's hit .500 with a homer and four RBI in two games. Could I have done better? Yeah. Could I have done worse? Yep, to that. I don't rip a lot of Sapphire -- in fact, this might be a first pack off the top of my head -- so ink from a single pack is a win. Will the rest of my MegaMix fare as well? We'll find out in the coming days and weeks.
