What's Buzz-worthy: I have bought a ton of this one in recent years as it's been a Walmart-exclusive retail release with a relatively simple lineup of base, short-prints, inserts, hits and original artwork to be found in its mega boxes with exclusives in blasters and then other loose-pack formats. This year? It doesn't appear there are SPs any more and everything is photography so that means there's no original artwork to be found. The bigger boxes cost more but guarantee ink ... so if you like the looks of this one do those boxes. This one? Well, it actually surprised me a bit with the photos and then a classy, simple frame -- but a few types -- within the set. I purposely waited to grab one as, well, we're well past the 2021 baseball season and I'm ready to dabble with new-year stuff soon ... or elsewhere. This one did have some decent rookie appearances but ultimately I didn't land anything out of the norm other than the Marichal card which is one in three blasters (but really isn't a big card). Check out the checklist at the link above and you'll see a boatload of rookie autos but also some big names you might not expect. Since there are only two formats -- it's retail-only -- they could be in your mega box if you choose to go there.

Product Grade: A- (departs from artwork so that may help appeal to more collectors this time)
Box Grade: B (some decent names but nothing ultimately that big here)
Fun Grade: B (go with the big box if you like this one)
