What's Buzz-worthy: If you're just wanting the flip, move to the next format -- or do hobby here -- but for a collector this one feels pretty crisp and clean to continue with the feel of the meaty first release here. This one has dropped early at retail -- delayed until nearly mid-December for hobby -- so we don't even yet have a checklist from Topps yet, but one of my first packs here coughed up one of the better Chrome cards I could find. It's a slab-worthy kind of find, too. Chrome odds here are one in 39 packs, so it gets this box an A ... but I'll not give it a plus since things did feel lean on the insert front otherwise and I did have a number of off-center finds. The rookie volume here is really nice -- 26 RCs out of 225 total cards including the SPs -- so the volume of RCs in the set has to be very strong. I really liked the design of the 1972 World Series inserts and Vaughn is a nice insert find. I'll say more when I rip more -- I have more incoming -- but I do know that the odds aren't all that alluring with ink at one in 510 (pretty normal) but all the stuff we should expect are found here ... Chromes, Minis, French text, errors, missing-star variations, city uni photo variations and nicknames for starters.
Product Grade: A- (tentative grade as I have not seen checklist yet)
Box Grade: A (India Chrome is big win with good RC volume and good names elsewhere)
Fun Grade: B (blasters still need more inserts ... especially these non-Walmart/Target versions)
