What's Buzz-worthy: Yes, I got a rarer auto than I did last time -- one in 196 packs for this one -- but it was the same guy (one I don't really want) and then I didn't land any numbered parallel here ... so this box drops for me just a tad on its grade. (I'm feeling heelish today ... typical babyface Buzz would let the odds pull that to an A.) From what I have seen for some of the recent WWE releases there could be some collation problems but my two boxes of this were from different cases/sources, so it's just the booking for me on this one. I went out and bought the specific auto I wanted here in the color I wanted, too, so I may sit this one out and see how prices look once a year's worth of releases all finish popping up between now and the end of the Topps contract next month. (Flagship and Fully Loaded also recently arrived and there are more to come.) I like the basics on this brand but there are some small issues -- like if you're a grader you might be surprised by some of the corners here. (They're often not square and I can't figure out whether that's because there cut that way or something is happening in packaging.) I'm also not a big fan of the 1990 Topps design but it's done better here than it was back in the day. ... As I noted last time, this box has its moments but ultimately isn't the flashiest one out there -- and that's a thought that might apply to the product on the whole. That's not a knock -- it's just reality as this isn't meant to be a high-end chaser brand loaded with huge autos and big chases. It's one built for collectors and it's got two on-card autos per hobby box -- typically one parallel and one standard. Overall, while it's nice, there's still stronger stuff to come on the last few weeks of the WWE card release calendar. Heritage is how it all started for this current Topps run back in 2005 and some of the company's best cardboard has come from this brand so I will definitely be grabbing key names here for ink over the coming weeks and months. For more thoughts, see my break from last week.
Product Grade: A-
Box Grade: B+ (yes, I got another Kushida auto ... a rarer one but not as good to me a second time around)
Fun Grade: B+
