What's Buzz-worthy: I'm pretty sure this release is still an example of changes in product lineups and inclusions due to the production delays still in play due to COVID. There are no Relics in this one -- first time in some time -- and that means you get four autos per box in this format. (Jumbo boxes have some different features ... hit that link up top.) Something not mentioned at all before release was the 1991 design element used here for the final 50 cards in the base set. It's simple but perhaps a little jarring but does help the feel of the variety found in a box. (A number of cards have errant stripes on the edges, too.) Like last year, inserts are relatively lean here so those 1991s help -- but this box did beat the odds a bit as regular Green parallels are not supposed to be in every box and the Green auto is one in 76 packs. There are parallels and autos for some of the inserts to add to the chase here, too, but in terms of the simple and basic stuff the MiLB Legends cards will be ones where I pick some off to grade. Everything here is very cleanly printed with stock so smooth and clean you'd think it's old Collector's Edge plastic stock. The base cards have spot gloss on the players and border elements that give it a better-than-basic feel. That's a touch I wouldn't mind seeing on MLB stuff. All in all here, I miss the surprises found with the Relics -- they were to be mascots this year -- and I'm still not all that sold on the 2021 or 1991 designs but this was a good box to rip for a lower price than a lot of stuff. Hit that checklist above and you should see some things that, with some luck, you could find and have it pay for everything in a box plus some.
