What's Buzz-worthy: At a glance, this seems like an average box -- and it might be based on who was found -- but the odds for some of these card types were demolished here. Green parallel? One in 54 packs. Orange? One in 90. Black? One in 155. Even Gold parallels over-delivered here as they are one in 14 and I got three in a 24-pack box. Now, did I land anybody truly big on them? Perhaps not. The Chrome topper pack was pretty good here with a Bichette and two rookies of note, while the inserts had their moments but weren't as impressive as, say, the results of a good blaster (there are some retail exclusives there to add variety). Now, had I found notable RCs or stars among my parallels? This box could have been monstrous. The base set is a little lean -- perhaps to load up for Topps Update -- and it's a little heavy on star pitchers (some either hurt or having plenty to say about sticky stuff ... to the point I didn't include them as I don't want to see 'em) but the design is pretty nice here. As I said before, I think it will look really, really good on Chrome. My Relic was, surprisingly, a numbered version but not a parallel -- I think showing how standard Relics here are rarer than people might think is a good move -- though nothing that wowed me. I think jumbo boxes are your definite way to go here with a guaranteed auto and two other hit-level cards (a Relic or manufactured Relic) along with plenty more. The release isn't perhaps as meaty as Series 1 for the base card basics but the overall inclusions here are still pretty impressive -- rip a jumbo box for the best experience.

Product Grade: A-
Box Grade:
A- (not flashy but check the odds on some of those parallels above)
Fun Grade: B- (relatively dry break -- some packs with no inserts ... needs more)
