What's Buzz-worthy: These boxes are high-risk, high-reward with a small stack of hits inside but monster potential with every box. This time? Well, I'll leave that up to more seasoned soccer fans out there -- one of my three cards here has one on eBay with an asking price that's pretty steep but I don't think I got anybody truly big based on general sales of their ink in other releases and each card here is a standard version for that set. (See the array of other possibilities in the odds panel below.) The finish here is a nice matte pearlized feel but one card had a surface scratch seen at an angle (but not obvious at a straight glance while another had a spot in the foilboard. Not big deals as they can happen but also not helpful in a small, high-end box. The presence of a BVD player here is good to my newb mindset for soccer but it doesn't look like he's a pricey guy for memorabilia cards. Aesthetically, I really like the look of things here vs. some other Tier One sets from the past but I feel like the heaters are probably other boxes out there. The checklist (link above) has some big potential on it with some young names and some good possibilities once you get into the autographed patches and other rarer finds. I do feel like this release could use a base set/parallel to add value to the boxes, especially as they are pricier than their start point.
