What's Buzz-worthy: I've opted to dabble with more small boxes and packs from recent years -- not that much has really grabbed me to dig into a higher-priced hobby box -- and this one was a bit of two extremes. The base and RCs here? Rough or downright awful. The inserts portion of the pack? Quite strong with the Vintage being a find one in 62 packs and then some top names in there, too. ... As I noted in a past break, this Update set is a little different than the norm -- it's still loaded with Rookie Cards but all of the All-Star stuff from this year isn't in there and that hurts with packs like this one. It was a COVID back-up/deadline thing for sure yet, let's be real here ... this year's highlights should be in next year's set. New stuff should be in Topps Now. I do miss the volume of stars that would always be seen here but this is how a set should be. And at the same time this one needed to be better. (Subsets with star power would solve the issue.) ... The RC crop is deep, though, and my hobby box break had more than 100 Rookie Cards in it so there's a good chance somebody will emerge here at some point. Jumbo gives you a ton of everything ... I'd do that if you're sold or have something you want to chase here.

Product Grade: B+ (some slight changes vs. past years drop it here a little)
Box Grade: A- (thanks to one rarer card and a couple young stars in inserts ... rest was below average)
Fun Grade: C+ (rough sledding with this one even with the rarer find)
