What's Buzz-worthy: Slam Attax cards are a vibrant and affordable rip if you're just looking for names to add to your collection, early cards of new stars or a flashy rip on the cheap. They're primarily made for the UK and European market (not sold in the U.S.) and then the Topps India crew re-issues the UK version of the set with everything but hits. This is one of a few packages made for that market that you can find out there without breaking the bank. It's not a perfect release -- a lot of stock and cutting issues here -- but the basics are nice. You just can't reasonably think of grading key finds here (not that many are ... but I would if they were clean). This one delivered right as it should have on the guarantees and it was generally fun to break just with flaws. You get a ton of packs in this format with them all arriving in a tray that's the size of a nine-card sheet. The binder here allows for a player or beginner to fit their box's worth of cards inside but it's not large enough to hold a set if you want to go there. There's a recessed tray for the packs to sit in but you can expect them to have been bouncing around inside the box a bit ... that perhaps caused some of my damage in this one. The packs are clear so you can see the top and bottom cards and the foils are all on top. The bonus cards here -- inserts noted above -- are in their own pack. I liked this one -- it wasn't perfect but I may do more as it's cheaper to go this route than it is to import a UK display box thanks to shipping and conversion rates. It's a simple rip and, yes, it's gaming but the star power and visual quality is here.
