What's Buzz-worthy: This is a brand I have bought -- pre-ordered at times even -- since its arrival in 2015 and this was one I reluctantly grabbed since it was the finale as WWE moves to Panini America this year. Why reluctant? The design is a bit dark yet still crisp for the brand -- not the norm for this line -- but also because the boxes, while safe, have gotten steeper in price over the years. (Not by a lot but enough to slow me down.) You get eight autos and two Relics per box here and that's what helps make it a somewhat safe buy for the deluxe price. This box showed how there can still be hit-and-miss results but with the volume helping out. This is an A+ box thanks to one tough card of a solid name -- that Mysterio auto is one in 186 packs (19 boxes) -- the exact same odds of landing a Fistograph autographed fist-print box-topper card. (I'd take the topper -- Sasha Banks please -- but I'm OK with this one.) The Booker T auto from that set is one in 24 (three boxes) and that is the same odds as the basic Relic here (though they have to flow well with the parallels) and the Green is one in 48 -- with a memorable match getting the nod on both pairings. Beyond Mysterio, Flair (if I get it), and maybe Nakamura, this box's autos were average at best. The auto lineup checklist is fine but perhaps on the lean side for variety's sake (skewing older and toward the men's side ... this box shows it) and that may be since it was originally slated to arrive early last year. The base set also feels on the lean side with it perhaps once having a lot of names that were cut in the last year -- I only got two former names in my base here and that number of cards (74?) seems odd to me. Once again, the color parallels are the highlights in my mind for this one and the Hartwell RC parallel was likely my best there though that Blue is one in three boxes. The Grand Slam inserts help add some variety here as well, which is something some years of this one needed. All in all, though, these are about the ink and some color ... I had a hint of it but I want more. There are only two final Topps WWE sets to come ... so we'll see how this one compares. It has its moments and it's a contender for the best one of the 2020 lineup that we have seen all drop in recent weeks though other sets will have more younger stars' sigs.
Product Grade: A-
Box Grade: A+ (rare Mysterio makes the box ... without it probably a B)
Fun Grade: B+ (not the best box until I landed the big one ... it had me sweating)
