What's Buzz-worthy: The Wrestling Revolver is a long-running indie promotion based in the Midwest and this is the latest in small card sets made to look back at the big names and big moments since it arrived in 2016. You'll spot stars here you can see in pretty much all major promotions right now all in this one set -- the only chase being one of four versions of the final card. This time, I landed a Trevor Lee (aka Cameron Grimes right now in NXT), while a second set I opened included an Ace Austin bonus card. (Who are the two others? I don't know yet ... ) I grabbed this after seeing a teaser image on their site that included a teaser for a Sü Yüng card -- I collect her stuff and this is one of only a couple of overall card appearances, all indie or self-made/authorized cards -- but it turns out I knew a number of names here. (There wasn't a checklist online.) After that, I just ordered a couple more of these hoping I'll get the other two SPs I need. It will also give me two more Sü shots worth a grading submission ... one of mine had an odd streak of light ink across the front but otherwise everything in both sets was cleanly made and cut. Just like anything, indie sets can be hit and miss but there are typically a low number of these types of sets made ... so I was fine here digging in at $25 for a 30-card set plus bonuses. The break-up value here can be good -- some collectors will just want who they collect and may not chase or want other cards -- so that's another reason to consider these. Indie sets also have been very hot sellers singles-wise in recent months, though more for first-time or early card appearances. This is more of a past-highlights approach -- the Sü card, for example, highlights a match in 2017 -- but for somebody new to dabbling with indie wrestling sets I didn't mind it ... it's kind of a primer for all that I missed back in the day and can go find out there in the online match libraries.
