What's Buzz-worthy: With some new stuff still incoming out there somewhere, I'll burn off some more reserve boxes on this Thursday and this landmark release is one of them. This time? An ultimately average blaster in its consistent results but with some good names in play ... so not enough to get it to an A in my book. Could have been better, could have been worse ... and it included what it typically should have been found to avoid a lower mark -- and these actually were pretty clean, too, unlike a lot of boxes I opened for this one. ... These are a bit cheaper now and are a good way to amass base cards for a set or do some volume ripping, but hobby remains by far -- by miles -- your best bet on the big parallels and hits here as they flow more regularly there. There are a lot of reasons to rip here, though, including a boatload of Rookie Cards for names who figure to be a big deal for years to come. This format is just not that dynamic -- it's a basic mix with Silvers and Greens -- and the expectations should be a little less dynamic, too, though strong stuff is possible a few times per case if luck is on your side. This one is a landmark release and this set has a deep 200-card checklist that's loaded with past, present and future stars so that can mean hot boxes or lean ones with this smaller format -- meanwhile, two just hobby packs equal a blaster. Rip the big boxes if you can ... and do these when those are gone.

Product Grade: A- (a lot of off-centered cards and rough cuts for my taste in this landmark release -- holds it back from top marks)
Box Grade: B (good names here but nothing bigger to get it to an A this time)
