What's Buzz-worthy: I typically go for the Walmart set chaser where you have a shot at the full set being a variation of some kind, but this year (at least so far) I went with the basics in the hobby version as it does include the three key rookies in all sets and then a pack of numbered parallels. I also dabbled with the idea that some of the issues that were found in packs this year on the centering, corners and surfaces might be cleaner here vs. in packs. (We'll see ... I haven't gone through those yet. Something for the weekend.) My parallels were probably only considered strong if you're a Mets fan but that happens. The three bonus rookies are tucked into the base cards on the end of the set so they might not always arrive crisp and clean. One of my trio had a dud corner on that front (Torkelson) but probably not a guy I'd slab, anyway. Centering? Still not that great on the J-Rod but I probably will. All in all, there's a bit to chase here as singles or maybe the parallels will get some to grab one for possible parallel sets at Walmart -- I probably will once before they vanish.
