What's Buzz-worthy: Should Logofractors be the new Superfractor? I say yes ... and let that golden hue continue there and then give us a full rainbow of these Logofractors in every release, too. That's how much I think this one works -- so much so the basic standard Chrome packs here don't even register with me (or the missing SP rookies and that fix) -- and despite that this edition bumps things up to an A release ... for this format. That said, it's not perfect -- I openly wondered why this one didn't have closer to a retail mega box price point vs. the $49.99 it was on Topps.com and then at the MLB Flagship Store in New York City -- the only places it was sold initially before the secondary market takes over. My box here wasn't the biggest deal, either, with my biggest highlights probably being Aaron Judge appearances, but the new stuff here is a win -- Logofractors are a win and I think something like Teamfractors or Leaguefractors should be pondered over some of the random textures we've seen though the years. The Logofractor packs here are the key and the routine does look to include color every time and an insert, too, from what I have seen. The inclusions -- see odds -- are not limited to these, either, though with only two packs per box that's a lot of boxes to land stuff ... another reason I pondered that start price. Players on image variation Logofractors are one in 38 packs (19 boxes), while ink starts at one in 20 (10 boxes). I think the possibilities here are good -- and I certainly like the approach and price here vs. it being a premium-priced Logofractor-only big brick of cards launched mostly for 582 Montgomery Club members only scenario. That more-democratic approach means I think you should at least try this one out. The odds won't be easy, but when you land a big -- and there are some Superfractors here -- you'll know it. The prices on the Julio Rodriguez Logofractors here are illogical to a degree but as impressive as the design and look. (So, in some ways, they make sense, too.) Here's hoping that Logofractors have a place in the hobby for some time. Now, excuse me while I go track down some and set up some eBay searches on one of my players ...
Product (Logofractor Edition) Grade: A- (Logofractors should be a full-on release of their own or a regularly appearing parallel ... in everything)
Box Grade: B+ (perhaps only thanks to Aaron Judge and one RC parallel)
Fun Grade: B (needs more Logofractor punch for the starting price)
