What's Buzz-worthy: It's not a Hot Box this time -- but they are in the retail run -- but my first blaster started off warm with Julio Rodriguez as the first card in the first pack here. That's not a good thing for a couple corners that are not demolished but definitely are soft from the packaging process but I'll take it ... and this one was definitely better than my second blaster that was shorted some stuff. This one was also not perfect as my best SP, Clayton Kershaw, arrived with relatively dramatic creasing inside the pack that didn't allow it to sit flat. (Not a normal kind of Heritage find in my experience but it happens.) Also helping out here? A Spencer Strider RC and some strong names in the inserts ... not the flashiest box or the best possible box but definitely a good one. ... Some thoughts from last time. ... The set is cleaner cut than the first series -- those back cuts aren't nearly as rough as last time -- and that makes this one a winner for those who will grade. The inserts here had some good variety and some decent names but the semi-industrial simple design of 1973 kind of is seen there ... not always in the best way. The All-Star Game insert design is very good vs. everything else, though, so there are some highlights here I want to analyze on the checklist more. ... If I liked the 1973 design more, this set might have landed an A+ grade overall. As a collector, this is the kind of box we need to see more of -- a lot to chase -- but without a price that forces one to rip and flip since it's so expensive. It's a better experience with hobby for the price -- a guaranteed hit and more along with a near-set in every box. I say rip those until they rise up or dry up and then snack on these boxes later.
