What's Buzz-worthy: Through two hobby boxes and two blasters this is my first dud -- an average box save for maybe a Juan Soto appearance in his new jersey colors. The inserts here are bare bones with only two SPs (what the odds say but I don't remember a day for a Heritage blaster without three forever) and with the only potential highlight among the few inserts being the shared card for Wander Franco ... and it's really nothing special. In short, average box at best ... though I am still a fan of this one in general as you will come close to landing the whole set in a hobby box and then have some guaranteed finds. ... The set is cleaner cut than the first series -- those back cuts aren't nearly as rough as last time -- and that makes this one a winner for those who will grade. The inserts here had some good variety and some decent names but the semi-industrial simple design of 1973 kind of is seen there ... not always in the best way. The All-Star Game insert design is very good vs. everything else, though, so there are some highlights here I want to analyze on the checklist more. ... If I liked the 1973 design more, this set might have landed an A+ grade overall. As a collector, this is the kind of box we need to see more of -- a lot to chase -- but without a price that forces one to rip and flip since it's so expensive. It's a better experience with hobby for the price -- a guaranteed hit and more along with a near-set in every box. I say rip those until they rise up or dry up and then snack on these boxes later.
Product Grade: A
Box Grade: C+ (just not much going on here and delivering the bare minimum)
Fun Grade: C (average box at best)
