What's Buzz-worthy: My first box of this one ran hot -- a Hot Box found one or two times per case -- with a Purple Refractor in every pack. The centering on those was bad but it included Julio Rodriguez, Bobby Witt Jr. and Steven Kwan to make it a solid one. The set size is small so you should land most of the set in every box here -- a good thing -- but that does mean that they guys will be plentiful, too, so it might not help values. (I'm good with this approach ... makes people happy.) The set is cleaner cut than the first series -- those back cuts aren't nearly as rough as last time -- and that makes this one a winner for those who will grade. Some still had issues just not as often as last time. The inserts here had some good variety and some decent names but the semi-industrial simple design of 1973 kind of is seen there ... not always in the best way. The All-Star Game insert design is very good vs. everything else, though, so there are some highlights here I want to analyze on the checklist and ponder my next moves here. Will I rip retail? I do have one more hobby box to pop up here soon, so I haven't landed on an answer with that just yet. I also need to examine the breaks of mega boxes, too, though I think hobby is a better way to go vs. that right now for the cost. The ink didn't flow for me at all this time but I did land an Action variation which is one in 66 packs, though I think these boxes will offer up some type of variation every time. All in all, a good start here and if I liked the 1973 design more this one might have landed an A+ grade overall. As a collector, this is the kind of box we need to see more of -- a lot to chase -- but without a price that forces one to rip and flip since it's so expensive.

Product Grade: A
Box Grade:
A (had Refractors been centered perhaps an A+ box)
Fun Grade: A-
