What's Buzz-worthy: With a new year of Heritage here, Buzz opted to grab a pair of these cheaper boxes with a loaded lineup of possibilities for less and with enough left over for a lunch stop, too. Did it pay off? Well, this one ran hot -- as in a one-per case Hot Box -- and that meant a Purple Refractor in every pack (though again badly centered) and this one included two of the top rookies to be found there ... so that, along with an auto, makes it a win. Could it still be topped? Yes, it could ... but it was pretty strong. ... The set size is small so you should land most of the set in every box here -- a good thing -- but that does mean that they guys will be plentiful, too, so it might not help values. (I'm good with this approach ... makes people happy and they don't have to skip meals to rip some boxes unlike a lot of brands these days.) This set is cleaner cut than the first series from this year -- those back cuts aren't nearly as rough as the first series -- and that makes this one a winner for those who will grade. (Some still had issues just not as often as last time.) ... I'd rip these hard if you're wanting to go there as redemptions for big autos -- including J-Rod -- expire later this year. This one included a decent veteran auto and a Chrome but no variation of any kind. With the Purples and all the rookies this was still a strong one at a bargain price.
