What's Buzz-worthy: Maybe my Walmart down the road is some wormhole where all Hot Boxes are injected into the world or something? Why so I say that? My third blaster of the year is ... my third blaster Hot Box of the year -- and they're all from the same store, maybe even the same case(s) as I don't think H has been vanishing quickly here.  This one had some highlights inside, though nothing dramatic or really anything that would get $20-25 back on its own but the total here wasn't bad with appearances from Vladdy, Harper, Soto and Hank Aaron along with some better-than-common RCs on the field but maybe not yet value-wise. The Purples here (what makes it a Hot Box) were OK but not really anybody who's an unquestioned value A-lister. The Chrome Refractor? One in 176 packs ... so there could be something to the notion that retail boxes can run hot at times this year. (You'd think something rarer like that wouldn't be found in a Hot Box as a hottie is already bonus enough.) Can I go 4-for-4? Immensely doubtful -- three in a row has been a trip. ... As I noted before, truth be told, I wasn't very sold on 1973 cards in most of the years leading up to this edition of Heritage but I have done relatively well this year without pulling ink. ... The printing seems a little retro as there are cards with some brighter white on fronts than others and the backs are admittedly chippy and have dark spots here and there as black and yellow aren't the most-friendly colors on oldschool stock. It's not as dry as a couple years ago but it's also not as colorful and star-stuffed as last year's ... but some touches are growing on me. ... There's a lot to like and chase here (see checklist with all of the variations noted above) but you'll need some luck to find many of them. You never know ... stuff found in hobby boxes here can also be in blasters ... just at longer odds.
