What's Buzz-worthy: My sampling tour of Series 1 this week turns to the blasters ... and this one offers up plenty of what the others do -- mostly base -- but with a little more volume of inserts than hangers. The Stars of MLB cards remain heavy but welcomed here with Chromes in every other blaster at one in 10 packs. The manufactured Relics are once again seeded into the normal packs here and this one, while featuring a future Hall of Famer, was pretty anticlimactic. Surprisingly I did not find a Wander Franco here -- he's been in five of seven boxes I have opened (all formats ... some still to come here) this year -- but I did land a decent rookie volume compared to my first hanger. This one included a Blue parallel (Walmart) that may help make some box breaks better if a good name is attached but that's still one in 350 boxes for a Franco (or any particular card). These might offer up a good volume of everything for a decent price at SRP but I also suppose the formats are appealing for different reasons for different people. So far, these might be the most-comfortable break as long as the Stars of MLB cards appeal -- otherwise, I'd go hobby jumbo that guarantee autos and more every time.
Product Grade: B+ (better design than last year -- just needs something more)
Box Grade: A- (Chrome for Bichette works for me to get it an A along with Ohtani's)
Fun Grade: B (manufactured relic is not as good as others from recent years)
