What's Buzz-worthy: This is my first look at this one and might be a last rip, too, since the corner crimping and top edge damage found heavily in blasters in the previous set is back. And that's a bummer as there are a lot of interesting finds here in a mix that is a little deeper than the first set with a lot of new names included. You get the first appearances of a number of AEW notables such as Thunder Rosa as well as newcomers known from elsewhere like C.M. Punk. The lineup here is pretty close to last year for parallels and some basics but no hit in this one -- they seemed to drop in almost every box from the previous. There's a chance I might dabble with a hobby box if it presents itself at a reasonable price -- I do like a lot here and prices can be reasonable, actually -- but the damage on most cards in this format (perhaps from packing equipment?) makes grading stuff here a fat no ... and I like to grade. Will I dabble with singles? Maybe. The damage isn't on every single base card but it's on nearly all and if the issue doesn't get you then a common top edge dent might. The mix here was pretty solid but the grade takes a dent with the damaged stuff so often and a B is probably still being nice about it. If I do more, then I'll offer more thoughts. This one didn't leave a good first impression despite having a lot I could have liked. Thankfully a couple of the names I like here that I found on inserts didn't have crimped corners ... so I do have hope at finding stuff to like if I do a hobby box. We'll see.
