What's Buzz-worthy: This one popped up in the retail wild and it caught my attention with it having an autograph in every box and a whole lot of mystery. What is it? Well, it looks like a bit of a repack/burn-off of stock from ONIT, which has signed deals to make NIL cards with a number of schools around the country -- cards of active NCAA athletes who may not have a lot of cards and sets not just for football teams. In this case, it's a box with six white ONIT packs inside and each is of a different team ... but you won't know until you open them. Each will have six base cards from a 2023 set and then at least one will include an autograph and an Icon Holo card, too, as those are box guarantees here. My box also had an extra SP "Blackout" card that is actually pretty striking. This one has 18 possible schools -- see the end of gallery for the list for those as well as the chase cards possible. ONIT sells by the box and by the pack for schools but this is a mixer that's perhaps some deep prospecting or one for the fans of college football in general. You'll find a lot of names here as the sets are deep and you're only getting six cards from those and then any bonus cards ... but for the price I liked it and will probably dabble more. Why? The guaranteed ink -- you never know -- combined with the price and the mystery/surprise factor. Plus with deep sets you never know if somebody in one of these sets might pop up elsewhere with little cardboard. ... If I were buying packs I'd probably not dabble with a lot of teams -- I'd just do my team, which is in there -- but if the price is right I'll dabble. This was around $5 per pack, while the single packs typically do cost double that or more and team boxes with guaranteed ink are about that, too. This is an affordable way to sample this company's stuff in all aspects.
