What's Buzz-worthy: This one is the arrival of Bronny James (aka LeBron James Jr.) on official cardboard and this blaster served as a showcase with the 2007 insert in the opening pack, one of his base cards a few packs later and then the Future Stars card in the finale. In between was a mess of the top prep all-star in the country for both boys and girls -- players who should be spotted on Bowman U cards in the future and then potentially on some NBA/WNBA cardboard later, too. It all starts here. I'd cite odds but they're nowhere to be found -- this set links to baseball on the official source and the QR code on the box goes nowhere -- but the mix was appealing for the price ($20 for this one) with all but ink, and then the "limited" and "super limited" cards noted on the side of the box showing up in this one. I like this event and brand as I think it's a stronger one-time deal for a one-time event vs. college cards where there might be plenty before a player arrives as a pro, plus this event has been around forever with a ton of talent in there ... just not as much cardboard as there really should be. There are a number of possible finds here for players with action and portraits on the base checklist with each having a slight difference (see above right) that really should have been part of the variation mix with this year's flagship MLB design ... but that didn't happen. There's really good potential here for a collector or for somebody who likes to dabble with early cardboard -- and this box shows it with three James cards in just seven packs. I don't rip much basketball -- just can't do it all -- but this one will get me to rip more when I spot it.
