What's Buzz-worthy: Now that these have dropped in price vs. time of release, I bit on a box and ultimately my results were very close to last time -- though no ink in this one, instead an off-centered Relic. My SP in the box? The Judge-Maris card ... that I landed last time. At the cut price, I'll survive. The rookie crop here is aging well on the field I think but since there's plenty made and a typical hobby box delivers nearly a set every time there won't be a lot of big-value RCs here unless somebody truly blows up here ... but as a collector and one who ha enjoyed the old stuff revisited over the years I don't mind this one. ... As I noted last time, this brand is one that might have taken over the old Bowman tagline -- Home Of The Rookie Card -- in recent years and that helped it quite a bit along with a meaty presence of legendary ink for players who were around back during the time of the original set and then ink for the newcomers and stars of now, too. Hall of Famer ink among the Real One Autographs is nil and that really puts even more pressure on everything else if somebody is ripping a case. I'd suspect most boxes are on par with this one but maybe at times better thanks to the SPs. ... Heritage has been around a long time -- and many like it -- but that also doesn't mean it can't be added onto and bolstered in simple ways. This one needed that. Product Grade: C+ (rough basics by HHN standards, but still potential among rarer stuff ... but that is light for some regular Hall of Famer autos)
Box Grade: B (good rookies and some better names among inserts)
Fun Grade: B-
