What's Buzz-worthy: This late-arriver is one of the best releases for a baseball collector year in and year out and this simple box shows why ... though the tougher pulls may not be all that crazy at a glance. The set is packed with Hall of Famers as well as new stars and rookies (great Hall crop, awful RC crop this time) while these blasters are remarkably consistent while potentially over-delivering just like they seemed to be last time. This box included a Red insert parallel for Joey Votto -- the perfect color to find him on -- that's one in 25 blasters. The Refractor? Solid name to find ... and one in 13 boxes. The names in other key spots are are pretty nice (Soto, Jeter) and the Cooperstown crew made up most of the base set power here. For a cheap box, this one was solid ... and there are rarer finds as well as autos to be found here. The Club added a new "compact box" to its lineup which includes ink every time and I think the smaller formats here might be better than full hobby boxes unless you only want autos. I'll offer up more thoughts on this one with my future boxes ... I suspect there will be some as this might be among the better affordable brands Topps did last year, though it just arrived.
