What's Buzz-worthy: With a new spring upon us it's time to rip some more baseball and the only recent release that I picked up more than one box of was this one as I know it's pretty consistent and can have its highlights with some luck. This time? Pretty standard stuff with an extra Red and really the only non-regular appearance being a Chrome, though that one didn't do much for me. I think this one's mix of past and present players and a meaty RC stack helped out but only that Red Gunnar was a "better" card to me ... so compared to my previous box of this one, this wasn't an A-level box. Had three been something else rarer or on-par with that Red then it would likely be an A-level box. I like this brand and will likely rip into it more while the Series 1 stuff grabs a lot of others' attention. ... As I noted last time, this late-arriver is one of the best releases for a baseball collector year in and year out with this set packed with everything. Plus, The Club added a new "compact box" to its lineup which includes ink every time and I think the smaller formats here might be better than full hobby boxes unless you only want autos. I'll offer up more thoughts on this one with my future boxes ... I suspect there will be some as this might be among the better affordable brands Topps did last year, though it just arrived.
