What's Buzz-worthy: Somehow I missed opening a pack of cards from this online creator last year but I happened upon a tweet and went down the rabbit hole this week and, well, here we are with a pack of this annual creation. This is my fifth year of ripping into these and if you don't know the details they are just-for-fun creations of artist Mike Noren -- see all of my past breaks and get more info here -- who brings these to life on the regular via the Gummy Arts Twitter and Instagram feeds. Somebody in the news or newsworthy on a particular day? They're likely to show up there ... and once (or so) a year, there's a set like this made. ... This time it's a 104-card release with a mix of iconic characters in pop culture, bands, musicians, celebs, athletes and more. Among those on the checklist? A Golden Girl, Atari, Moby Dick, Jean-Claude Van Damme, The Wet Bandits from Home Alone, Prince, The Hart Foundation, Cameron from Ferris Bueller, Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction, Debbie Harry, Ted Lasso, Jim Henson, Jose Canseco, Nirvana, The Fulton County Election Interference Defendants (as a team card), Madonna, The Griffeys, Jimmy Carter, Cheech & Chong and so many more. This pack delivered perhaps the best sports card in this one -- one of the biggest names in the here and now, Shohei Ohtani ... with his dog. I also liked the Chamberlain nod to a real card from the past as a member of the San Diego Conquistadors and then some of the musical nods. ... Since there's such a deep mix of variety in all of these sets, there are so many classic names where people are selling a lot of these as singles. The style and the fun surprises here make this one to see each year and the printing is simple paper stock with a hand-cut feel to them to reinforce the concept. Since they have happened a few years now, there's a good following -- check out those account follower totals up top -- and check 'em out for yourself beyond what I landed in the gallery below. It won't be long until a new year is here ... I'll try to not wait so long for those once they arrive.

Pack Grade: A- (Ohtani is the big one for my tastes along with the Chamberlain)
Fun Grade: B+ (this is more about my mix of subjects in this pack this time ... most packs would get an A from me)
