What’s Buzz-worthy: One is a soccer icon on the women's stage -- and really beyond that, too -- who you'd probably expect to be in a multi-sport set like this, while the other is a long-time TV sports reporter for ESPN, ABC, NBC and the NFL Network who's definitely been seen but not perhaps on a lot of cardboard. Since both have TV experience (Chastain as a commentator after her playing career) I figured I'd present them here together as I burn off my small lot of packs bought to break here. Why? Variety -- and it's hard to beat sub-$6 1/1 packs -- where I can land some better names on interesting cards with everything being a unique card in that color/texture parallel. ... Why open? This set is a landmark one with its focus -- a set focusing on women's sports stars and others around the sports realm -- and ripping a box or two is on my radar but for now I'm doing some volume ripping on these. ... The backs are blank here an ink doesn't happen here, of course, but a lot of big names are possible and that's part of the appeal. ... There are many varieties per card with all the colors and textures and in this case the proofs are not in stickered-shut top-loaders this time -- that might tweak the feel here slightly -- but overall, I like this approach as it's something that could trend affordable while remaining unique and something that could pique the interests of a lot of collectors.
