What’s Buzz-worthy: My last two packs here show the range of what can be found in this one with the third pick in last year's WNBA Draft, Kamilla Cardoso of the Chicago Sky, and Leilani Armenta the first woman to play in an HBCU D-I football game and the first to score with three extra-point kicks in 2023 and one more in 2024. I had pondered picking off an affordable Armenta auto from this one -- prices can be soft with a lot of parallels -- but instead I did these packs first as a taste test (and for some Buzz Breaks) so landing her was a fun find for me. Cardoso also is a higher-profile WNBA player as a former two-time NCAA championship winner with South Carolina. ... This set is a landmark one with its focus -- a set focusing on women's sports stars and others around the sports realm -- and ripping a box or two is on my radar. There are many varieties per card with all the colors and textures and in this case the proofs are not in stickered top-loaders -- that might tweak the feel here slightly vs. other Leaf proofs -- but, overall, I like this approach as it's something that could trend affordable while remaining unique and something that could pique the interests of a lot of collectors out there. You can collect here without worrying about costs on a lot of names.
