What's Buzz-worthy: This was my third rip of a retail format here and it was, by far, the best break with good rookie volume (this series is lean on veteran stars) and even more impressive insert volume with some odds-defying results, too, with three serial-numbered cards but ultimately the power here was probably more in the simple foilboarded 1989s and some other inserts with young stars in play. It was a fun rip for all that variety and potential but when I was done the base stack was really not that impressive and the meaty insert stack was nice -- way better than other retail formats -- but still felt like it was missing something bigger that would make it a win. (The three serial-numbered cards got it to A-status but there should be way, way better A boxes out there vs. this one. ...  This one was a bit cleaner than the other two formats I opened save for a few washed-out cards, a light errant gloss on some backs and a piece of scrap in one pack that had its way with one common's surface. This release is perhaps not as clean as Series 1 printing-wise as corners -- especially corners on parallel cards and foil inserts -- showed issues and there were some top/bottom denting issues. (It's somewhat common ... but I would prefer it not be there at all as I'd like to grade good finds here.) I think this one had a good feel vs. my Series 1 rips and if they can all deliver better like this then I think this format has good potential if better names pop in those color/insert spots.

Product Grade: A- (probably only thanks to Fun Face, which is an A+ homage inclusion)
Box Grade: A- (three serial-numbered cards over-delivered here odds-wise plus some better young names found)
Fun Grade: A (landed some statistically rarer cards but, again, nothing felt like that big of a big deal)
