What’s Buzz-worthy: With this year's MLB All-Star Game here tonight, I figured I'd open a pack of something that came into the collecting world at last year's game -- this 10-card set of the personalities on MLB Network via comic book style illustrations. The packs aren't all that rare or pricey -- they should be under $10 even with the calendar change, meaning these are perhaps not as easily found -- and the set is simple. There's no chase here, just 10 standard cards in a plain silver wrapper with a sticker slapped on it -- a promotional set distributed at the game last year. A challenge here might be trying to land clean copies of the top and bottom card as, well, that wrapper won't protect from fingernail dents or edge curls if the stack of cards shifts inside the package. Most names -- if not all -- already have some card presence, though obviously former MLB players appear on far more cardboard than the TV-trained crew. This one isn't a big deal, but it's a fun one ... something different.
