What's Buzz-worthy: My second pack of this revealed a more-modern name -- she's a 1990s-and-beyond vedette, or entertainer who specializes in burlesque, while also being found around modeling, fashion and elsewhere in pop culture in recent decades. Whether it's TV shows, music videos, books, performance tours or even fashion runways, she's been an in-person celebrator of styles from the 1940s and beyond. She doesn't have much cardboard save for some off-the-radar Playboy card appearances of the past, so this was an interesting surprise in a release that has a lot of familiar non-sports inclusions as well as some you don't see as often. There are, I believe, some first-time cards here, too. (Read more about her career here.) ... If you missed my previous break, I'll revisit some of my thoughts on this one now. ... This previews what looks to be an interesting release to come later this year with each encased preview card limited to no more than 10 serial-numbered copies. In play are a ton of colors and textures -- and one box I saw opened had seven 1/1 cards as well as a 1/1 auto -- and there's a lot of rare stuff to be found here. It includes standard card proofs, autographed card proofs (a big blank white box where ink goes) and then some signed versions (one per box), some apparently rarer sketch cards and then other proofs. (Teasers noted pre-production and production cards ... so perhaps some names here won't make the formal release later but I couldn't really discern a difference online.) ... Some of the 50-plus notables on the checklist include Clint Eastwood, Priscilla Presley, Al Pacino, Charlie Sheen, Chevy Chase, Chuck Norris, Geena Davis, Molly Ringwald, Ric Flair, Carmen Electra, Marisa Tomei, Uma Thurman, Adam Driver, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Gisele Bundchen, Samuel L. Jackson, Natalie Portman, Sean Astin and Zoë Saldaña for starters. ... These are cleanly and crisply printed on what looks to be chrome or plastic stock with a lot of colorful, flashy looks and I'm ready to dig in on more for this one as well as the regular set ... TBD on all that once info is released. (Nothing yet.)
