All of my Red & Blue Refractors had heavy "sweating" within minutes of going into sleeves -- far more than any other cards. Perhaps these sheets didn't dry long enough when the plastic layer was paired with its paper backing?
What's Buzz-worthy: Topps returns to the ring for the first time since 2021 thanks to an early licensing change and arrives with a landmark Chrome release that includes some of the biggest autographs possible in the modern era of wrestling -- The Rock for starters and The Rock and Steve Austin on one card in particular as a Mega Powers-style chase atop Superfractor ink -- along with an absolute mess of parallel action, easy inserts and rarer inserts found on the case (and rarer) level. In short, it's a massive package of stuff -- perhaps too much when it comes to the autograph lineup depth -- but the only things that will hold this one back at all might be some production issues and then the secondary market cost of entry as many want their shots at that rare ink and other colorful finds only found in Chrome. This box? It delivered close to the standard kind of stuff with the rarest card being, oddly, the autograph that's not as rare -- they're either spread out across more formats or have fewer names on the checklist and that makes that Red auto one in 157 hobby packs vs. the rarer Blue auto at one in 89. My rarer insert parallel was one in 106 packs. The only real negative here -- and I have seen rougher results -- is the production. Centering seems to be an issue often even with the irregular, slightly asymmetrical design and there are light surface scratches across a lot of card fronts for both base and parallels (see the Stratton close-up at the end of the gallery to know what to watch for) but, most disappointingly, one parallel here seems to be quite sweaty based on my pair of boxes. All of my Red & Blue Refractors had very heavy "sweating" within 15 minutes of going into penny sleeves -- far more than any other cards. Perhaps these sheets didn't dry long enough when the plastic layer was paired with its paper backing? The Pinks and some Refractors also had very minor sticking but not the kind that leaves this kind of funk on the surface. See the Hogan closeups at right and in the gallery below. I grabbed a pair of these boxes and, generally, it was the mix that worked well here for the spend, though I could have done better. (I don't often spring for larger box formats these days but ... I did it for The Rock, I did it for the people.) My second box was similar and it will be in the #Buzzmania8 box breaks marathon before WrestleMania on April 18 right here on The Buzz. Below, you can see every card from this box and I'm sure I'll have more to say once I rip into some other formats of this if they present themselves to me. Ink and rarer chase cards can be found in all formats, though obviously with some long odds for those landmark cards ... but if you rip into them here at least can say you you have a shot.
Product Grade: A- (massive potential here on rare stuff but auto checklist is vast ... and production looks like it could have problem spots at times)
Box Grade: B (could have been better, could have been worse for sure)
Fun Grade: B (good variety is here, mostly via parallels ... had it all been clean, then an easy A)

- A sample card back — meaty blurbs in this one.
- Rarest parallel’s top plastic layer was severely crunched before joining the card back.
- All of these color parallels were severely sweaty within minutes of being sleeved.
- Taken out of the sleeves there was some gunk showing — will need a rubdown with a microfiber cloth.
- Watch for minor scratch lines across all base and some parallels — all in this general location.
