What's Buzz-worthy: Repacks seem to get some extra attention from you guys so the curiosity of this one got me a bit easier for a break here. These promise some basics and a couple of hits and it delivered pretty well -- enough that I'd probably try it one more time to see whether it's up or down compared to this one. I prefer repacks with more packs than loose cards but this one was a little stronger in that all of the cards were from 2015 and forward, mostly Topps' various flagship series, with a smattering of inserts, short-printed cards and a even a couple of numbered insert cards. It also over-delivered on the guaranteed Purple (Toys R Us-only) parallels with nine instead of just three. Another surprise? The first 15 cards of the 25-card Chicago Cubs World Series sets that have been floundering in retail bargain bins (and probably should all just be sent to Chicago instead). I don't dislike the look of those cards -- and I got the stars -- just don't need it. However, that was a bit of a surprise to find here as these types of repacks can often be filled with stuff from the 1980s and early 1990s instead of newer stuff. The only drawback of what was here was there were a number of cards that showed corner and edge issues as if they might have been from jumbo rack packs that got thrown around at retail before arriving here. (It happens ... but is noticeable when you land a solid insert with an issue.) The hits here were fun surprises. The Pete Rose autos aren't pricey but I certainly could have done worse here and I got a memorabilia card of a reliable guy -- a multi-time Gold Glover -- too. The packs will likely vary but there's potential there, too, with the USA pack here being a hobby pack and the Topps pack being the home of a loaded rookie crop. The Purple cards and the years in this one are both places where notable cards could be found -- whether they might have been pulled out I don't know -- but there's potential here on the relative cheap if the card aisle doesn't have what you went looking for.
