What's Buzz-worthy: This hit series on Cartoon Network gets its first ride on cardboard with a simple base set accented by a few inserts and a deep and strong roster of autographs and sketch cards. It's aired for five seasons and has been a ground-breaker as the network's first animated show created by a woman as well as a series that has won a Peabody Award and been nominated for four Emmy Awards. Show creator Rebecca Sugar is among the most-plentiful autographs here -- not typically the norm -- and it appears she sketched something alongside many of her autos. The auto checklist has some signers signing in low volume for each of their characters and this box included a relatively big name in my book with one of the most-complex inscription cards I've ever pulled (or seen), though I know him from elsewhere -- Matthew Moy played Han Lee on 2 Broke Girls for seven seasons. It appears nearly all of the main cast members signed for this one and there's even ink from Grammy-winning songwriter Aimee Mann to be found (she signed 150 cards and it should be big). The only surprise here was that somehow I came up one base card short of the set -- that never happens -- but everything delivered well as boxes from this card-maker do. The secondary market isn't too full with available autos yet (it arrived just this week) but I'd expect there to be strong interest for a number of those autos and the sketch cards (both one per box) will offer some added oomph, too. (My sketch was on the simpler side this time.) All in all, this was a comfortable break for the price and fans of the show should enjoy opening this one.
