From time to time, Buzz will break a box of something and post the results here. Like this and want to see more? Or maybe there's a box you'd want to see busted? Send Buzz an email at BlowoutBuzz@blowoutcards.com.
The box: Fairfield 100 baseball cards + one pack retail repack
Where to buy: Stocked plenty of places ($5)
Packs per box: One -- plus 100 assorted cards
Notables on base cards – See gallery
What's Buzz-worthy: This repack has been popping up on the Blowout Forums at times because there have been a number of examples of this one showing up with key Rookie Cards (Aaron Judge, Bryce Harper) on the fronts and even rarer factory set-exclusive Topps RC variations inside. ... Somebody bought this one for me, so I figured I'd give this a look here, though it's a definite beginner item that can, at times, deliver some OK cards. (The image above is from eBay, as this one was photographed but accidentally deleted before opening.) This one had a Max Scherzer 2017 Topps Heritage Chrome (/999) card on the front and a 1990 Upper Deck pack inside. The Yu Darvish is a variation, while the rest of the cards in the gallery below are either oddball cards or Hall of Famers or veterans who stood out from the rest as highlights. These typically are full of commons and others from the 1980s and early 1990s but there are definitely other names sprinkled in rather intentionally. They're good for a beginner if your local card options are limited, though the front cards can deliver more than your $5 if you check these, say, the next time you hit a Rite Aid for something else. (That's where this one was found.) There are autographs and memorabilia cards possible in these -- I pulled a National Treasures multi-piece memorabilia card in a football one once, so I know it's possible.

I recently bought a card that came from a Fairfield box. It's a 2017/18 leaf Ohtani, but the kicker is that it has a gold border. Its obviously a variant, but can't find any info on the web on it. I did find that there's a green border variant sp that's supposedly limited to 5, but nothing on a gold. Can you help me, so I know exactly what I have? Thanks!
