What's Buzz-worthy: Buzz spotted this one out in the wild for the first time this week and opted to bite for a non-traditional Buzz Break for today's big day. Ultimately, the only mystery with this break is  whether one lands the variation figure or not. What is it? Blockbuster Rewind is a smaller-sized Funko Pop!-ish take on various past movies -- these smaller (about four inches) and more proportional -- packed in an oldschool Blockbuster video rental-style package (about six inches) with a plastic membership-style plastic Character Card. (You see, kids, you used to have to go to a Blockbuster store, hope a video was there that you wanted to see, show your membership card and then pay money to take a movie home and watch it before you then had to return it. And if you're real old you even had to rewind them ... they came on tapes, not DVDs.) The line launched this fall and there are already dozens of figures (with cards) out now or on the way for dozens of franchises -- TV and film -- with chase figures all in the mix. Among them? Everything from Scooby-Doo to Ghostbusters, The Big Lebowski, Dumb And Dumber, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Crow, Batman, The Lord Of The Rings and plenty more. They'll cost around $12-15 depending on location and if they are exclusives, but the appeal to some might be how the packaging can keep things orderly in one's library like games or tapes and not the chaos of random toys. One caution? Be careful opening these as the clamshell plastic can crunch with pressure -- I cracked mine trying to open its thick plastic over-wrap in the car without a blade handy (see the damage in the gallery). I dig the cards that these come with and it does look like a chase figure comes with a chase card -- more to collect. Oh, and, am I nutty enough to grade something like this? Oh, yes. (The cards at least.) Will I do more? Well, there's at least one that has already caught my eye ... so you'll probably see at least one more of these Buzz Breaks in the coming year. I will admit I was more of a Netflix rental guy, though, in the DVD years ... I never had a Blockbuster where I lived before that.
