What's Buzz-worthy: So, what the heck is this one? Well besides some retro NFL Draft weekend filler that should strike a chord with some of you who collected back in the day, this one is an oddity -- essentially a repack -- but in pack form -- of a bunch of botched football cards from one of Buzz's favorite NFL brands and sets from the past, 1990 Pro Set. Atop that, there's an insert of sorts (past inserts or promos from other companies) one per pack and that's it. ... Its creator also attempted to classify the various types of misprints into categories that can be found a few times a box, once per box or rarer -- though what precisely some of them are (at least compared to other similar errors) seems a little debatable. (You can see the box's bottom panel above.) ... Why do these exist? Well, it seems somebody had plenty of this stuff that typically would have been destroyed -- and this arrived a few years ago when people seemed to be revisiting Pro Set errors with some dollars behind them. Few of the cards found in this box would have any true high-dollar value but some Hall of Famers might be in demand by player or team collectors who like misprints -- I found a few notables among the botched Pro Set cards for sure and even a couple that I might even grade. ... The inserts are pretty much cheap standard stuff to offer some variety and bigger names beyond 1990 Pro Set but a couple in this one are obscure and might fetch a couple bucks. There could be some legit error cards to be found in the mix here -- like the Fred Marion belt error shown on the box -- but most stuff from this time isn't that big of a deal ... but eBay sales can still surprise from time to time (check those completeds). People are, indeed, buying this stuff.
