What's Buzz-worthy: Buzz had these tucked away for Buzz 8 in 8 at some point this month, but today's been a little slow so I figured I'd unleash these throwback packs now. That's my positive line. My reality line? These came real close to being packs that simply should have been thrown back. Thankfully, I landed a trio of Hall of Famers in this pair of packs but not a whole lot else from a brand that many call a landmark release. There are no inserts here just a premium feel (for that time) and then whatever stars or Rookie Cards you might land. Sammy Sosa is your only RC of note in this series -- at least today -- while Series 2 has guys like Frank Thomas, Larry Walker and Dave Justice. Rather than try to say more here, I'll just show every card from both packs in the gallery below. I thought they were out of place in a recent junk wax lot, though that was based on the outside of the wrapper. Inside, they were similar to many other packs around that time this time. In fact some delivered way better than this.
