What's Buzz-worthy: Admittedly, the mystery got me here ... along with a couple of showing issues that seemed odd to me compared to the typical stuff on the shelf around other versions of these repacks. What are these? Well, the pretty generic name says so -- it's a repack of five old comics (not the stacks of newer stuff straight from publisher leftovers like other repacks I have busted here) made by New Dimension Comics, a small regional chain of shops. I found these for $5.99 a pop at an Ollie's Bargain Outlet store (also a regional chain) where other comics and graphic novels can be round on the cheap often. These showed one on the front and one on the back with three here helping get me -- a Micronauts issue that looked older than it is, the Archie as I knew it was a variant of a key number (with a bunch of versions) and then a deluxe version from back in my day, the Shadowhawk issue that has a matte cardboard die-cut cover and then a foil underlay. Atop that, one of these included a thick trade paperback that I knew was not the norm, either, though these repacks did dip pretty deep into obscure indy publishers' books. Ultimately when I opened them both up, it wasn't as interesting as I had thought and I don't think I landed anything big ... but that's what happens at times with mystery repacks. The next time I hit one of those stores, I'll dabble with the newer repacks ... and perhaps some finds in the board game/gaming section ... there's some interesting stuff on the cheap there, too.
