Buzz Buys ... A LOT: A nice little mix of Americana cardboard

Buzz buys a lot of stuff these days and for a few reasons, really. Sometimes it's just bargain-hunting, sometimes it's just something that strikes me. And other times it's a lot -- a group of things -- and that has happened enough lately I figured I'd try something different as a regularly appearing item. Sometimes my lots will be wins, sometimes they won't be ... but I'll let you decide.

A LOTTA AMERICANA
The Lot: A mixed-year lot of 74 Donruss/Panini Americana cards (a few base -- mostly serial-numbered inserts -- and a couple hits)
The Price: Less than a blaster box in the retail wild (with tax) -- check out some non-sports breaks here

What's The Deal? This wasn't a lot that had any one card I truly wanted -- but the more I looked at it I realized that it was packed with serial-numbered cards based on its bulk-lot listing photo. In all, this one had 41 serial-numbered inserts -- all between /50 and /1,000 -- and they're mostly from releases where the boxes are long gone in unopened form. The extra gravy here was a pair of hits where they alone probably cover about half of my cost for the lot. If I were a seller, this would be an easy kind of lot to pop into either smaller lots (insert lots or parallel lots) or onto a site to sell where, over time, getting $20 back might not be that hard. (Granted, a lot of this stuff isn't in high demand but I'm into them for not much more than a quarter apiece.) The only drawback here is that some did have funky corners -- some wear but nothing super dramatic -- but I didn't mind even that for the price.

What's The Steal? I'm not sure if there's any one steal here, but the double-mem card has a pair of Winter Olympics legends and a card like that can have seasonal (during Olympics) interest that can surprise ... even with old names. Why? They have cards but not thousands of them like stars of MLB, NFL, etc.  The overall volume of this lot was the main thrust here for me with some names in there that I like. This one beat some random blaster with odds of landing a serial-numbered card slim and a hit likely not in there at all.

Anything Missing? Nah ... this is a lot, not a set or near-set situation.
