This new department will be an occasional series that will take a quick look at a game our gaming release with card elements -- essentially a breakdown of what's in a box, but not the typical kind of a Buzz Break. (Buzz isn't a gamer so this will just be what's in a box vs. gameplay analysis.) Maybe there's a box you'd want to see busted? Send Buzz an email at BlowoutBuzz@blowoutcards.com.

What's Buzz-worthy: The formal name here is "Vs. System 2PCG: AEW" but since I wanted non-gamers like me to see something and understand it I went with a less-coded title up top for a game that, well, was off my radar for some time before I spotted it. This was made in 2023 and I spotted it earlier this year and picked one off for an OK price given the card volume here. You get 200 cards in this one with only 70 different (and I assume the mix is the same each time) in the. There are 55 wrestler cards and the rest are the other subsets mentioned that are key for gameplay. For those names considered "main" you only get one copy of a couple different cards here (making them SPs in comparison) while you get four copies apiece for the others. Other subsets yield between one and eight copies per card. Buzz isn't a gamer but I have seen these same style decks for Marvel and other properties and this one, to me, is about a few names and perhaps some oddball grading. (That's my motivation to open here ... a few names I like.) "Rookie Cards" aren't in play with this since it's gaming but that's not a big deal as a number of the better names who are technically 2023 RCs in the standard AEW set aren't here -- so this was probably prepped a little earlier in the timeline than the regular stuff or perhaps not as updated if there were production delays. There are some strong images here within those heavy gaming frames so those cards pop a little more than the ones who have distant images at a small size, but there's a good mix of stuff, though it's lighter on the women's side of the stars than it should be. All in all, this is one I'll do once for some speculative (just for fun) slabbing or maybe once more if I find it at a slasher price and really want to grade one of those rarer-seeded cards more than time. Why? Stuff like this has a chance to be rarer in the long-term than the regular cards, though the demand probably won't be as high. You never know though over time and with collecting trends and tastes ... and some names here have been around AEW, WWE and other companies in the time since this arrived or are legends who have a lot of cards.
Product Grade: A-
Box Grade: A- (cards are crisp and clean with really only centering off here and there)
Fun Grade: B+
