Buzz Hobby Show Spotlight: Shipshewana Card Show

In these challenging times for hobby shops and shows around the country and around the world, Blowout Cards is launching a new series, the Buzz Hobby Shop Spotlight -- a look at spots in the hobby that you might not know about ... in their own words.

From Buzz: We're looking at a show this time with a slight name change for this edition of the series.

Shipshewana Card Show

In their own words: "My son, Carson, and I got back into collecting in 2014 and we immediately fell in love with our local card show. After attending shows, including the last three Nationals before the Atlantic City cancellation, I thought to myself 'Let's have our own show.' We invited 10 to 12 of our favorite dealers and they invited some of their best friends and we launched with a 65-table show in Shipshewana, Ind. After three shows, we got too big for our 6,000 square-foot space and had our fourth show in a 30,000-square foot expo center. We sold 145 tables and had 600-plus guests at our first show on Feb. 27 in the new building. We have a show coming up on April 18 and then we will follow that up with a show on Memorial Day. Shipshewana is a tourist town with the midwest’s largest flea market and is absolutely hopping on Memorial Day."
