BuzzMania 6: Booking The Favorite Best Pays Off Big (Hour 13)

The biggest weekend in pro wrestling is here with WrestleMania 39 set for this Saturday and Sunday from Los Angeles. We'll make today a big one for wrestling collectors right here on The Buzz with #BuzzMania6, a marathon of WWE wax box/pack breaks all day long.

This 13th break of the day is easily one of this collector's favorite wrestling releases ever as it's simple, has some young stars' first/early cards and autographs in play and is a smaller format that lets it get ripped quickly.

My Take Before I Broke This: I have perhaps ripped this more than any other Topps WWE release ever -- I'm not 100 percent sure ... but I'm 99.9 percent sure -- and with a smaller format with just two packs and a hit in each due to COVID delays and reconfiguration it's a bit more fun. Why? I'm really only ripping for the Roster cards, numbered parallels and then the hits here ... and two packs with something in each works for me. (I don't need more base cards with a highlight approach taken. At all ... especially with no women's cards in there.) The Roster set here is strong with more than a few newcomers here that are worth noting and who'll be on the WrestleMania card this year.

Who Won The Battle? I won this one with that Blue -- one of the best cards possible here for ink as well as a better parallel ... and although it's got some very minor specs that's actually a very clean copy. The pair of basic parallels here are one in four and one in seven packs, while the Shirt Relic is one in 65 packs ... big but a big dud on that auto and the name attached, somebody who is no longer in WWE.

The Top Rookie: This isn't a RC per se -- the Roster inserts got logos here -- but in my book Ripley is among the top three or four in what is a nice set.

Card That Stole The Show: Landing Rhea Ripley's auto in any form here is a win and to land it as a Blue is even better with that being one in 11 packs for any name ... and the checklist is pretty deep with 34 stars.

Lot Grade: A+ ... Ripley ink made the hour but there are other cards here that were rarer pulls with decent names.
Fun Grade: A ... See above.

The Bottom Line: Booking one of my favorites here paid off pretty well ... and it might look even better if when she gets a win this weekend.
