The biggest weekend in pro wrestling is here with WrestleMania 41 set for this Saturday and Sunday from Las Vegas. We'll make today a big one for wrestling collectors right here on The Buzz with #BuzzMania8, a marathon of wrestling breaks all day long.
Prizm opened the big show for Panini America WWE in 2022 and it opened things up big -- that one is a landmark set packed with depth and plenty of rare and colorful finds. That one also came with a big cost for hobby boxes and, well, Buzz never went there in any of its years for the big boxes. Here goes on an Undercard box, from its final year ... my first.

My Take Before I Broke This: Prizm is a favorite of many out there but, ultimately, it wasn't for me during the Panini run -- though I only opened blasters each year. Why? Big sets and not a boatload of variety -- and other releases such as Select offer up a stronger mix for my taste. ... This format has some exclusive Undercard parallels in every pack -- the circles being a texture I like -- but is otherwise pretty heavy on base, which is the norm here ... just imagine a hobby box having even more of everything here but without these textured cards. With a lot of it made and a lot of it ripped, you can find the basic stuff easily, too, so that's why I ripped small boxes and grabbed what I liked ... but I went this route for today, though, because of its main-event potential.
Who Won The Battle? I think the house won this one as my run of parallels save for Stratton was pretty standard, if not weak excluding the champ. The inserts had more star power this time, while my auto was OK but not a money name -- definitely not what I would be looking for from a slightly pricier box. That said, if the price is right this is still a box I'd open again as there's good potential with the volume of stuff only found here (a good name in a good spot would be a big win) and the image variations are fun and only found here. (They're noted with a "V" on the back as seen in the gallery.) There are some strong variations but this one wasn't one of those.
--
The Top Rookies: I got a decent volume of rookies in here but only Oba Femi was in there for the newcomers who I think are stronger. It's not expensive at all, but his stuff is worth a look -- he could be a game-changer in the future. (Go check my past Buzz Buys items in the archives for more on him.)
--
Card That Stole The Show: Stratton Red here is a winner as it's a color match to the photo, which makes it a little more appealing than some jarring color that might clash with her red gear. Asking/sale prices are good, but they're not paying for this box. It's a win for my collection as a name I like ... but not a win this time if I was ripping to flip.
--
Box/Case Grade: B ... There's a lot to find here and this one shows the mix -- just should have been stronger in spots. There's safety in the volume for flippers but with a lot of the basic stuff made you still need a couple of bigger cards for a better mark.
Fun Grade: B+ ... The Red Stratton was in my first pack and a strong start -- I collect her -- but it might have been the biggest highlight, too.
--
The Bottom Line: It's a strong option since it's cheaper than full hobby boxes, but the actual results can still be hit and miss. This box was probably a little bit of both -- but more miss -- despite a couple highlights. It's a format that's probably more about safety in numbers and that probably makes hobby the safer bet if you like it and the price ranges there.
